Local News | Jávea International Festival 2026: Three Evenings of Food, Music and Culture
Jávea’s international community will come together once again this summer as the Jávea International Festival returns for its 31st edition.
Taking place from Thursday 2 July until Saturday 4 July 2026, the festival will transform Avenida Augusta into a lively celebration of international food, music, dance and traditions. The event opens at 18:00 each evening and admission is completely free.
A Celebration of Jávea’s International Community
The International Festival has become one of the most popular events in Jávea’s summer calendar, reflecting the open, welcoming and multicultural character of the town.
For three evenings, residents and visitors will be able to experience the flavours and traditions of countries from around the world, all within a few steps of one another.
The 2026 festival will bring together representatives from 19 different countries, each presenting traditional dishes, regional products, music and cultural performances.
Countries taking part include Germany, Algeria, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, the United States, France, England, Italy, Madagascar, Mexico, Switzerland and Venezuela.
Thailand will join the festival for the first time in 2026, while Morocco and Uruguay will make a welcome return after several years away.
International Food and Traditional Flavours
Food is always one of the biggest attractions of the Jávea International Festival.
Visitors can move between the different country stalls, sampling authentic dishes, drinks and regional specialities from across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas.
Whether you are looking forward to discovering something completely new or returning for an old favourite, the festival offers a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a variety of international flavours in one lively setting.
With 19 countries represented, it is the perfect excuse to arrive hungry and spend the evening trying dishes from several different parts of the world.
Live Music, Dance and Entertainment
Alongside the food stalls, there will be a full programme of live music, dance and cultural entertainment throughout the three evenings.
Each day will begin with entertainment from the duo Sweet Soulz, followed by performances from musicians, dance schools and live bands.
One of the most unusual additions to the 2026 programme will be a daily performance of the traditional Swiss alphorn. Swiss musicians Ueli Ott and Fritz Frautschi will demonstrate this distinctive Alpine instrument every evening at 20:15.
Thursday 2 July
The festival opens at 18:00, with entertainment beginning at 20:00.
The official opening and welcome from the authorities will take place at 21:00, followed by a performance from students at Star Studios School of Performing Arts.
The evening will finish with live music from the New Blanca Band at 23:00.
Friday 3 July
Friday evening will include a performance from Candombe Valencia at 20:45, followed by students from the EnDanza dance school at 21:30.
The group Batisjaus will take to the stage at 23:00 to complete the second evening of celebrations.
Saturday 4 July
The final evening will feature Mariachi Internacional at 20:30, followed by another performance from the EnDanza dance school.
The 31st Jávea International Festival will then come to a close with live music from Swag at 23:00.
An Event for All Ages
The Jávea International Festival is designed to be enjoyed by people of all ages.
The combination of international cuisine, colourful performances, traditional music and a relaxed outdoor atmosphere makes it an excellent evening out for families, groups of friends and anyone interested in discovering more about Jávea’s diverse community.
Organisers expect the festival to attract more than 30,000 visitors across the three evenings, making it one of the largest cultural gatherings of the summer.
