Local News | Christmas and Reyes in Jávea — The Best Events to Enjoy in 2025–2026

As the festive lights sparkle across the streets of Jávea, the town comes alive with seasonal cheer from mid December right through to Three Kings on 6th January. Whether you’re here for a short stay, visiting family, or already lucky enough to call this corner of the Costa Blanca home, the holidays offer plenty of ways to enjoy community spirit, music, tradition and seasonal fun.

Festive highlights across the town

Christmas parades and live music

One of the most joyful features of the season are the lively Christmas parades that weave through both the Port and the Old Town. With bands, dancers and brightly dressed groups, these processions bring a sense of celebration to the streets and are great for families.

Music also plays a big part in Jávea’s festivities. Look out for choral concerts and instrumental performances in local venues such as the Augustinian Convent and the historic parish churches — a lovely way to soak up the atmosphere in beautiful settings.

Santa visits and family workshops

Kids are well catered for throughout the holidays. In addition to meeting Santa Claus in both the Arenal and the Port, there are seasonal workshops where children can make cards, decorations and crafts. These are relaxed, informal events that give families a simple and fun way to spend a couple of hours together.

At the Arenal’s Jávea Park and in pop up tents along the seafront, you’ll find a mix of games, creative activities and entertainment that keep the spirit of Christmas alive between school holidays and catch ups with friends.

Sant Silvestre fun run

Towards the end of December, the popular Sant Silvestre race brings the community together in a joyful, colourful run that often sees participants in fancy dress — and their dogs taking part too. It’s less about competition and more about ending the year on a lively, inclusive note.

The Royal Mailboxes and Three Kings preparation

After Christmas, children can post letters to the Three Kings in special mailboxes placed around town — a much loved tradition here. In the first days of January, the Royal Camp at a local historic riurau becomes a focal point for families to hand over letters, enjoy storytelling, crafts and seasonal music.

Three Kings arrives by sea — the highlight for many

One of the most magical moments of the festive season is the arrival of the Three Kings by boat at the Port of Jávea on the evening of 5 January. This spectacular event draws crowds of all ages as the Kings step ashore to the sounds of brass bands and applause, before processing through the streets in a colourful cavalcade. Children cheer, families line the parade route, and the whole town has that unmistakable festive glow.

It’s a particularly striking expression of the local tradition: the sea, the streets full of smiling faces, and the warmth of community celebration all in one.

A peaceful close with Reyes music

To round off the holidays on 6 January, there is usually a concert in the Old Town that offers gentle music and a reflective finish to the festive season before life returns to normal.
