Local News | Top 5 Easter Activities in Jávea for 2026

Easter is one of the loveliest times of year to enjoy Jávea. The town starts to feel busier, the weather is usually ideal for getting out and about, and there is a real mix of tradition, family events, markets and live music to enjoy. In 2026, Holy Week (Semana Santa) runs from Sunday 29 March to Sunday 5 April, with Good Friday on 3 April and Easter Monday on 6 April, which is also a public holiday in the Valencian Community.

Whether you already own a home here, are visiting for a short break, or are thinking about making a move, Easter is a great time to see Jávea at its best. Here are five of the top Easter activities to enjoy in Jávea in 2026.

1. Enjoy the atmosphere of Holy Week in Jávea

For many people, Easter in Jávea is all about the atmosphere. Holy Week brings a more traditional side to town, with church celebrations and the usual sense of occasion that builds from Palm Sunday through to Easter Sunday. Even if you are not here specifically for the religious side of Easter, it is a lovely time to wander through the Old Town and Port and enjoy a different side of Jávea. Holy Week in 2026 begins on 29 March and Easter Sunday falls on 5 April.

2. Visit the Easter Craft Fair in the Historic Centre

One of the best confirmed Easter events in Jávea for 2026 is the traditional Craft Fair in the Old Town. It will take place from 4 to 6 April 2026, from 10:00 to 20:00, filling the Old Town with handmade goods, local products and activities for children. It is one of those events that suits all ages and gives the centre of Jávea a great atmosphere over the Easter weekend.

If you enjoy browsing independent stalls, picking up something unique or simply spending a relaxed day in the centre with family or friends, this is always a good choice.

3. Head to Mar de Jávea Festival on Easter weekend

If you prefer your Easter with live music and a lively atmosphere, Mar de Jávea is right on cue for 2026. The festival takes place on 3 and 4 April in Jávea, right in the middle of the Easter weekend. The 2026 line-up includes names such as Taburete, Crystal Fighters, La La Love You, Pignoise, Leire Martínez, Marlena, Iñigo Quintero and David Otero.

This has become one of the standout spring events in the area and is ideal for anyone wanting to mix beach time, evenings out and a bit of festival energy during their Easter break.

4. Start Easter with local food at the Mercat d’Origen

Just before the main Easter weekend, the Mercat d’Origen de la Marina Alta takes place in Jávea on 28 March 2026. This market focuses on local produce and artisan food products, with workshops, live music and family activities.

It is a good option if you want to ease into the Easter period and enjoy a more local feel. For anyone staying in Jávea for the full holiday period, it is a nice way to pick up regional products and enjoy the town before the busier Easter weekend begins.

5. Add an exhibition or relaxed stroll to your Easter plans

Not every Easter activity has to be a big event. If you want a slower pace, Jávea’s cultural programme also has exhibitions running through the Easter period. In April 2026, exhibitions including A un temps and Ver sin Ver are listed until 19 April, while Mediterranean Essence runs through 30 April.

Pair that with a walk through the Old Town, the Port or along the seafront and you have a very easy Easter day out. Sometimes that balance of a little culture, a coffee stop and some time by the sea is exactly what makes Easter in Jávea so appealing.

Easter is also a great time to buy or list a property in Jávea

If you are coming to Jávea for Easter and thinking about buying a property here, it is an excellent time to look around. You can experience the town when it feels lively, see how different areas look in spring, and get a real sense of the lifestyle.

Easter is also a good opportunity for property owners considering a sale. With more visitors in town and buyers using the holiday period to explore the area, it can be an ideal moment to put your property on the market and attract interest from motivated purchasers.

At Javea Home Finders, we will be open over the Easter weekend to help both buyers and sellers make the most of this busy time of year. Whether you would like to arrange viewings, start your property search, or discuss listing your home, our team will be here to help.

From apartments close to the beach to villas in quieter residential areas, Easter can be the perfect time to take the next step, whether that means finding your new home in Jávea or successfully bringing your property to market.
