Local News | Two Unforgettable Weeks of San Juan Celebrations in Jávea
Jávea’s Fogueres de Sant Joan celebrations reach their spectacular finale with the Nit dels Focs, fireworks, music and the traditional Cremà.
For almost two weeks, the streets of Jávea have been filled with music, colour and celebration as the town has come together for the annual Fogueres de Sant Joan festivities.
From the opening proclamations and traditional parades to live concerts, children’s activities, decorated streets and late night celebrations, San Juan has once again shown exactly why it is one of the most anticipated events in Jávea’s calendar.
The Historic Centre has been transformed by music, decorated streets, traditional events and a fantastic atmosphere. Residents and visitors have enjoyed everything from paella competitions and live performances to dancing, theatre, games and activities for all generations.
One of the highlights was the visit to the beautifully decorated streets, when the Court of Honour, Damas and Queens paraded through the Historic Centre. The traditional Dansà Popular, local music and performances brought even more colour and energy to the celebrations.
The festivities also reached the different areas of Jávea, with a special parade visiting Thiviers, Freginal, the Port and the Arenal.
Music, Quintades and Family Celebrations
Music has played a huge part in this year’s programme, with live groups, orchestras and DJs keeping the celebrations going into the early hours.
The concert night brought another memorable evening to the Plaza de la Constitución, while the much loved Dia de les Quintades saw generations of quintàs reunite for a full day of parades, games, music and celebrations.
Sunday was dedicated to children and families, with activities, entertainment and a musical performance of Aladdin. The evening continued with the colourful parade of the peñas, costumes, music and plenty of creativity.
The Day of the Offering was another particularly special moment, as flowers were presented to Sant Joan and used to create the traditional floral tapestry in the Plaza de la Iglesia.
Tuesday 23 June: The Nit dels Focs
The celebrations now reach one of their most exciting moments on Tuesday 23 June with the Nit dels Focs.
The day begins with the Crida a la Festa and the traditional offering of Raïms i Bacores to Sant Joan. During the parade, one figure from both the main and children’s Fogueres will be saved from the flames during the Indult del Ninot.
The afternoon continues with the lively parade and competition of charangas, followed by the Focs Infantils for younger participants.
At 23:30, the traditional Nit dels Focs de Sant Joan begins in the Historic Centre. This spectacular event is recognised as a Fiesta of Local Tourist Interest in the Valencian Community and remains one of the most unforgettable nights of the year in Jávea.
Participants will make their way through the streets, jumping over the symbolic fires before reaching the final bonfire. The evening continues with the burning of the Foguera de Trastos Vells and the spectacular Nit Màgica correfocs, which will travel from Raval de Baix to the Plaza de la Constitución.
Music and celebrations will then continue until the early hours.
Wednesday 24 June: The Grand Finale
Wednesday 24 June is the official Día de Sant Joan and the final day of the celebrations.
The morning includes religious ceremonies in honour of Sant Joan, followed by a spectacular mascletà in the Plaza de la Constitución and a wine reception at the Riurau d’Arnauda.
At 19:00, the colourful parade of floats will make its way through Jávea before finishing at the Portal del Clot, where the children’s Foguera will be burned.
The final evening begins with live music from the Freedom orchestra at 23:00 in the Plaza de la Constitución.
At midnight, a spectacular firework display will light up the sky before the Cremà of the main Foguera brings the Fogueres de Sant Joan 2026 celebrations to an emotional and dramatic close.
A Celebration at the Heart of Jávea
Fogueres de Sant Joan is about much more than fireworks and parties. It is a celebration of local identity, tradition and community, bringing together people of all ages from across Jávea.
After almost two weeks of incredible events, there are still two of the biggest days to enjoy. Whether you are joining the Nit dels Focs, watching the parade of floats or gathering in the Plaza de la Constitución for the final fireworks and Cremà, the finale promises to be truly unforgettable.
From everyone at Javea Home Finders, we hope you enjoy the final celebrations.
Bona festa de Sant Joan!
